TECH: Weird Office 2003 printing problem

From a teacher's home computer:
New Presario with Win XP, had trial version of Office 2003.  When the =
trial expired he installed Office 97 and ordered the teacher/student =
version of Office 2003.  After installing 2003 he cannot print from =
Word.  The printer runs paper through it, the carriage moves back and =
forth but no ink is dispensed.  No printing problems with Excel. =20
Other info: The 2003 installation did not overwrite the Office 97

My suggestion was to reinstall the printer.  Then, if needed, uninstall =
all of the Office programs and reinstall 2003.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?
