Off the topic...a little,....

I always loved the comments that people make about certain colors of M &
M's tasting better than others. These people always chose their
favorite colors and ate only those from the bags.

When the "M & M Counting Book" came out and all of the activities with
math were discussed as activities for students, I used the book AND a
bag of M & M's with my blind students (Oklahoma School for the Blind)
during a story time. The teachers (who were sighted) started talking
about which ones tasted the best and one of our students said..."I
didn't know they were different colors!! They all taste the same!"

So much for that theory! <grin>

Subject: Gen: Humor "The Giver"

Was out a few days and enjoyed the thread that was put to rest by Peter.
=3D It reminded me of a story I am always looking for an oppt'y to =
tell.
=3D When I was teaching in the classroom I loved discussing The Giver.
One =3D day we got into a dialog about explaining color to someone who =
has
never =3D seen colors. I grew up with a friend who was blind from birth
and always =3D found it a fascinating discussion. Anyway, I gave it as =
a
writing =3D promt.....explaining color to someone who is blind. Two =
days
later I =3D rec'd a nasty note from an understandably irate parent who
wanted to =3D know what kind a horrible assignment that =
was....explaining
color to =3D someone who is blond...... Can't beat this job for the
laughs........

"I really didn't realize the librarians were, you know, such a dangerous
=3D group. They are subversive. You think they're just sitting there at
the =3D desk, all quiet and everything. They're like plotting the
revolution, =3D man. I wouldn't mess with them." Michael Moore
