I have a question for those people who are lucky enough to have their circulation system automated. What is done in your building when you are absent? In our corporation, a "sub" is not gotten for me. Our new principal wants me to allow classroom teachers to be able to use our Follett Circ+ and just be able to check in / out books for their students on their own. This sounds like an accident waiting to happen to me, but in the interest of being openminded, I'd like to ask for the opinions of others who perhaps have been fully automated for longer than we have (1 year). What do you think? If others who read this are interested in the answers, and/or if they generate a bit of controversy, I'd be glad to post a HIT.
