TAR: SEC, research elective

My Department Head has asked me about the plausibility of developing a
"Research Elective" for next year. If anyone has done this, I'd be very
interested in corresponding with you.  I have any number of questions,(
including the obvious: what on earth would make a High school student
choose this as an elective?) I have many ideas about what I'd like to
include, but I would be very interested to hear from someone who has
actually taught this as a separate course, not an extension of some
other course.
