The American Association of School Librarians (AASL), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), is currently accepting proposals for the Exploratorium, which will take place at the AASL National Conference and Exhibition in Pittsburgh, Pa., in October 2005. The Exploratorium will be held on Thursday, October 6, 1-3 p.m. It is a two-hour educational session showcasing "best practices" from the school library media community, and will consist of learning stations where attendees can browse at their own pace spending as much or as little time at each station as they wish. The Exploratorium provides a national forum to share school library media successes from a school, district or state level. The first AASL Exploratorium was held at its 11th National Conference and Exhibition in Kansas City in 2003, where the AASL @ your library campaign was launched. This year's Exploratorium would be the perfect venue to show off what campaign-related activities and initiatives were successful @ your library since the fall of 2003. To find out more about the Exploratorium and get proposal topic ideas, go to the "For Presenters" area of the AASL Conference Web site at http://www.ala.org/aasl/pittsburgh/presenters and click on "Exploratorium Proposals." The deadline for proposal submissions is Monday, April 25, 2005. Steven L.
