Does anyone have a separate section in their library for beginning chapter/reader books? We are a K-12 school with one library for all grades, and most of these books are in the "E Fic" section, though some also end up in regular fiction. The problem is that I have a lot of struggling readers who could use these books, but won't look in the "E" section because they are older (no matter what the section is called, "Everybody" or "Easy" they still recognize it as the picture book section for younger kids). I suppose I could move them all to fiction, but I don't know that that's the right answer either. It would be nice to have these books all in one place, so that when a teacher asks for beginning chapter books, they could be easily located. My library is small enough that I could set up the section without much difficulty, but I'm just not sure it's "good practice" - so I wanted to see if anyone else out there has done it. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions?
