During my intensive cleanup and reorganization this summer, I have been re-reading journal articles that seemed to pile up on my clipboards. One of them was called Stop the Whining by Ann Carlson Weeks from SLJ Sept 2001. Ann advocated we "employ the activist approach. We must take responsibility for documenting the importance of the library media program to student learning. We must then present this evidence in compelling ters that demonstrate the value of the program to our users, rather than merely applaud (or bemoan) the virtue of our work." Since I have read through 4 inches of journals just this morning and this was a paragraph that stuck out, I thought I would share it with LM_NETTER's during our coffee break. As you read through journal articles this year, please share passages that invigorate or inspire you. Even old words speak fresh when uttered anew. Diane R.
