LM-Netters, I am using an ancient-of days automated system, Columbia Library System, which is no longer even in existence, company-wise. It was purchased by another company a few years back. On my first day back from the summer I attempted to turn on our circ. computer and to make a long story short, our hard drive had crashed. Our tech coordinator attempted to clone another machine to download the program on to a new computer and we've had glitches ever since. Our major issues are: (1) MARC loader will not work (I believe the new processors are too fast for this dinosaur of a program) (2) I cannot get the program to retain the correct date. The computer system date is correct, I can change the date to the correct one in the "Initialize Circulation Files), but when I go to the "Circulation" program, it says the earliest possible date I can enter January 1, 1980. To add to the mess, there is another date that floats in and out: whenever I go in and out of the circulation program, it pops up with a message that I haven't done a back-up since 08-29-10!! Is there anyone out there still using this dinosaur that can help me??? Anyone?? Anyone??
