Dear Netters: I first started using individual student-made shelf markers last year for students in grades K-3 when I was working at a school in British Columbia. This year I am back at my old school where I see students from K-6 and I'm wondering if there is an upper elementary grade by which student feel that it is not cool (and also not worth your effort to remind them) to use them. Just in case that sentence wasn't clear I'll state my question another way. Is there a grade at which you would stop having students make their own shelf markers (with the implication that you would be consistently/constantly :) reminding them to use them)?
