Thank you all who took time to respond. I tried to acknowledge each of you
individually, but in case I
missed, know your sharing was appreciated.

Most mentioned title was:

A GEBRA NAMED AL by Wendy Isdell-- it seems to be a title teachers love to use to
connect in the way
the teacher wants, but according to Amazon reviews the students do not like at a
middle/junior high
level. I am still giving to the teacher and let her make the call. This had an
algebra connection that was
given a 4 for math connection on a math fiction site listed below.

Also mentioned; (not directly related to pre-algebra)

CHASING VERMEER by Baillett (uses pentominoes to solve puzzles)
FLATLAND: A ROMANCE OF MANY DIMENSIONS by Edwin Abbott (Geometry)

If any other titles trickle in I will share as they appear.

By the way there were no responses to my other general query asking if anyone had
experience creating
a study guide for the novel, STICKS by Joan Bauer.

Sincerely,
Kathleen Fencil
