Season's greetings! Our activities director would like to show our students' performances on a local access cable channel, including things like musicals, concert performances, etc. I am quite sure that there are numerous copyright issues involved, and was wondering if someone could give me a head's up of what I needed to know before we make a major mistake. I have Carol Simpson's Copyright in Schools 3rd ed. and know that to sell tapes we must get permission from the persons in the performance and get performance and distribution rights. Do these rules apply to local access cable and are there more things to consider? Please advise.
