My original question:

When cataloging in Winnebago Spectrum, after building the MARC record, a
Holdings window opens with blank fields for information about a specific
item. Among these fields is one called "fund." The box has a pull down menu
in which appears any fund name ever entered in the history of my library. By
now it is filled with misspellings, errors and outdated terms mixed in with
the few I actually use. No where in my User Manual is there a clue as to how
to delete items from this menu. If anyone knows how to do this, could you
contact me off the list with instructions? I will gladly post a hit if there
is interest!

Because so many of you asked, I post with Patti's permission:

Question

Okay here goes and be warned it's not easy.

First you will have to create a special index that has fund range as the
first sort. I can't remember exactly how to do this but I did it once so it
must be in the manual as to how to do it.

Then go to the fund list and write down exactly each fund you want to
delete.

Then go into Reports - Materials

Choose the fund index and enter exactly the fund info that you want to
delete.

Create and print the list. IF you are lucky it will be short.

Mine are usually things like it should be general 05-06

but I have something like general 50-06 usually number reversals or the
like.

Then when you have the list you just go into Materials Edit enter the
material number for each item and correct the error. You will still see the
incorrect fund in the fund list until they are all corrected AND you close
Spectrum when you reopen it the incorrect fund should be gone.

As I said not easy, very labor intensive. But it's doable. Best of luck
on finding the time. What I did was to create the individual lists - I had
several ;-( - I wrote the correct version on the top of the list then had
an associate or student make the corrections.

If you have questions let me know.

Good luck, Pati
