Maybe it's different at the high school. My administrator sends out
reminders two weeks before that we need to make sure that our lesson plans
are well developed and that teaching continues during this crazy time. As
for improper use of movies, I tell my teachers that I cannot use library
equipment for viewing that is not in compliance with copyright. It is easy
to get around, link it to your lesson! Again, I believe this is easier at
the high school level, and also with an administrator who is in agreement.
My son (4th grade) is watching Winn Dixie today, but they have had the book
read to them as a class and will be doing a compare/contrast of the video
and book. Follows his writing benchmarks for his grade and the video is
being used with face to face instruction. Just my two cents!
