Hello all - The middle school principal in my district is giving a workshop on using picture books with MS students that "can be used with my students for a springboard to writing or to use to jumpstart an advisory discussion." He gave me the list he currently uses which are mostly older titles- Jon Scieszka's books - I'm going to suggest the new science one, Tomie dePaola's Tom and The Art Lesson, Alexander and the terrible....., Miss Nelson is missing, Where the Wild Things are, etc. My wheels are already spinning w/newer titles but I thought it couldn't hurt to check w/those of you who know the middle school species better than I? I will compile and post a HIT when I am finished.
