[LM_NET] TAR: 9th Grade Novel details

I posted an earlier message, looking for 9th grade novel suggestions.
I've had several people ask what novel is being replaced and more
specifics on the reading level.

We have an English teacher retiring that has used "When Legends Die"
for so many years that we now have second generation students reading
this book for 9th grade English. One of the younger English teachers
would like to replace it with a high interest, but purposeful book. I
don't think the topic really matters. She said she would like it to be
from a college-bound recommended reading list, but because it's taught
during first semester freshman English, would like the reading level to
be 8th-9th.
