Thank you for the kind responses to my last message. I do know how to save screen
shots, and in fact I frequently make them into transparencies to use with students.
I just wanted a live demo this time (sigh) .... Anyway, I wanted to follow up to
tell you that I received the following message from one of the teachers that was in
my audience that day (names of people and the online service have been omitted):
"One of my reading groups is doing research projects and I decided to try out the
(name omitted) Web site on your list. It's wonderful! That can now be one of their
sources. I also found out what a "quolls" is. (Sounds plural but I guess it's not.)
Quolls are mentioned in one of our books on rain forest animals and I've never been
able to find it anywhere to see what it is. There was one reference to it on that
web site. So the mystery is solved! I just wanted to say thanks for all your
information!"
So I guess my handouts and verbal explanations weren't so bad after all. People do
listen, and once in a while they even say thank you. (And before I get responses
about what quolls, yes I did refer more information to her on that one as well!)
