Being a fan of Diana, I followed the Royal family for years. From what I 
understand, as long as Diana was alive and the boys were young, the Queen thought 
it not appropriate that Charles be seen with this other woman. Now that Diana has 
been dead for a while and the boys are not young anymore, the Royal family is no 
longer bound by past "rules."
