----- Original Message ----- From: Mail.tsimapping.com To: LM_NET Sent: Thursday, February 10, 2005 2:44 PM Subject: Results of survey on AR and collection development First let me say that with every response in regards to AR and collection development, whether AR effected collection development or not, there was some sort of frustration expressed or an opinion stated . My read on all the responses is that AR is a hot topic that will be debated for some time. Here are my results: There were 14 responses of which 8 said they order only AR books, due to circulation and demands from teachers; 4 said they do not let AR get in the way of their collection development, and the last 2 had additional funding for AR, either from fundraisers or donations so they did not have to use their library budget to purchase the tests and some of the books for AR. A very interesting topic, one that will rage for a long time I suppose. Thanks for your interest.
