I realize this might be an odd time of the year to ask this, but I'm = thinking ahead. For those of you who have student volunteers, how do you get them started at the beginning of the year/semester? How do you establish a schedule/routine, train them, etc? Any great tips or procedures you have in place? And what tasks do you have them do? We currently let ours process magazines, shelve books, etc., but I'd also like to give them some "fun" activities that might add a student touch to the library. Any suggestions there? This was my first year in a new job, and my assistant took a lot of the responsibility for the students, since I had plenty of other things to worry about, but next year, I want to take more responsibility. Thanks for any help!
