Hi all,

All of our teaachers are required to have a web page created through Contribute.
Each web page must have 4 required commponents:
schedule
direct line phone number
best time to be reached by phone
and
e-mail address....which is our district e-mail.

I can't understand why teachers would balk at using e-mail. It's so much more
convenient. No more phone tag and parents can contact us at their convenience; we
can respond at our convenience. It also eliminates the need to make phone calls
from home at night.

Our teachers are obviously required to communicate through phone or e-mail....but I
think I speak for 95% of our staff when I say.... e-mail makes communications so
much easier.

Readingly yours,
Chris

I would like to know how other schools handle teacher e-mail. Are teachers required
to communicate with parents through e-mail?

We are finding that some parents want to communicate with all teachers through
e-mail and feel that teachers should be required to communicate that way. They say
that if the school was a business, it would be required. However, some teachers
balk at the idea of having to check their e-mail often and don't want to deal with
what could be a lot of correspondence. How are other schools dealing with this?
