Thanks to the many people who responded to my post (too many to thank individually). Many more people are using than I thought and only one person experienced compatibility problems. That problem occurred with Open Office files written on PCs which could not be opened by MS Office running on Macs. The only other reported problem was one user having to use the "open with" dialog when double clicking Open Office files. Everyone else seems to really like the program. I will install it on my laptop to get familiar with it and then burn some CDs to circulate to students and staff. The software can be downloaded for free (and freely redistributed) from: http://www.openoffice.org/ ---- Tony Doyle, Librarian Livingston High School, Livingston, CA tdoyle@muhsd.k12.ca.us <Http://www.lhs.muhsd.k12.ca.us/library/index.htm> "You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture.
