Preschoolers need to be taught and retaught and retaught.
You cannot over teach book care.

BUT KIDS LOVE STORY TIME. KEEP IT FUN FUN FUN ABOVE ALL

I like to think that I am smuggling BOOK CARE into story time.

Taking care of books, handling them with care, how to properly browse the
shelves, reshelve a book without jamming it, with the spine facing out, the
book turning the pages with care,
responsibility transporting them home and not losing them.
All the librarians and teachers alike will love you to teach them to be kind

to ALL books.

Show them the call number and how to find the book, and or leave it flat
on the shelf or the table so a librarian can shelve it where it belongs.
