Susan Stevens Crummel is fantastic...and SO funny! (Author of
"Jackalope", "And the Dish Ran Away With the Spoon", and
"Cook-A-Doodle-Doo," etc., ...her sister is Janet Stevens, the
illlustrator!) She's also very affordable --- about $1000 per day (for
three presentations) plus travel expenses.

Susan taught HS math in a private school in Fort Worth, so she can
easily work with the youngest to the adults...and she makes everything
seem SO much fun! I've seen her several times (she's a regular here at
our school--which is just down the street from her former teaching
campus, Fort Worth Country Day School!)

You can contact her at: http://www.susanstevenscrummel.com/

Good luck!

Subject: [LM_NET] TARGET: author visit suggestions -Northern NJ

Good morning,

We are a private, religious school in Northern, NJ- 1st through
8th
grade. My PTA wants to arrange for an author visit. In the past, we
have had
David Schwartz and Doug Florian. They were both terrific and I would
highly recommend them.
Although we know of many other authors, it doesn't necessarily
guarantee they are interesting presenters. I was wondering if anyone
could recommend a specific author who will be entertaining and enough
to keep the kids interested.

Thanks for your help.
