Thank you Peter, Shonda and Jo for putting into words my reaction to the AASL press release about the National Education Technology Plan.. No matter what state - CA, TX, NJ, here in FL - the rule is do more with less. I have had a teacher with her classes based IN THE LIBRARY, not a room off to the side, since September, and there is no sign of her moving soon. There was a portable that had a problem right before winter break. That teacher and classes just left after a three week visit. And so on....many administrators see the library media center as a big empty room even when there is a strong library media program. The National Education Technology Plan means nothing to them yet because the plan has no bearing on a state grade for the school or AYP. So now we have the NETP and the NCLB not remembering we exist.... Cecelia L.
