[LM_NET] Gen: Cataloging and checking out textbooks

Our district has asked us to begin cataloging and then checking out
textbooks district wide.  Is there anyone who would be willing to share
their process with us? i.e.: who checks the materials out to the
students, when do they get their books, are the extra books returned to
a central location and who maintains them?  Thanks for any help you can
give us.
