Thank you top all who responded to my question:
I am doing a personal survey regarding teachers and librarians in the
workplace.
I am not asking for any legal opinions. I would like to know if you
check in
and check out in your workplace .In CA I believe professionals such as
teachers and librarians are exempt.

The majority who responded said they do not clock in although many
librarians said they sign in when they arrive at work or if they leave the
building!

"Manners are of more importance than laws. Manners are what vex or soothe,
corrupt or purify, exalt or debase, barbarize or refine us, by a constant,
steady, uniform, insensible operation, like that of the air we breathe in."

Edmund Burke (1729-1797)
