Greetings from DC. I just posted the following item on ResourceShelf.com and thought it was more than deserving of a post on the list. It's always exciting to read positive press about librarians and library services. (-: School Libraries Source: Corvallis Gazette-Times http://www.gazettetimes.com/articles/2005/01/26/news/community/wedloc02.txt Libraries launch online databases at Data & Dessert For your great idea folder. We first learned about the Data & Dessert program (going on at schools throughout Washington, Oregon, and elsewhere) during the Internet@Schools West conference last November. This is one wonderful idea to get students and their parents/guardians excited about the wonderful resources (including the librarians themselves) that their school and public library offer. From the article, "Tuesday evening's library event, Data & Dessert, brought 65 people to Linus Pauling Middle School to learn about online databases offered through the Corvallis School District's library system and the Corvallis-Benton County Library system."
