Hands down, the best resource is Wildlife and Plants of the World by
Marshall Cavendish (17 vols.). You will love it!

We have the newest series from Grolier--World of Animals. There are a
total of four sets in the series, each set has 10 volumes. Sets are
Mammals, Birds, Insects/Invertebrates, and the one one yet published is
Reptiles (I think).

I just bought the new World Books Science and Nature Guides. Ok for the
older kids; better for the younger ones.
