To all on the list who have been writing,
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, that is me on the cover of Teaching
k-8! It was very exciting to be interviewed for a national professional
magazine. I loved the picture of me, and just so you know, I will never
look that good again. I am very fortunate to have a terrific collection
and a supportive administration for my work in our library. I guess this
is my fifteen minutes of fame. A few clarifications just for us. I had
five years experience as a public children's librarian before being
hired by the Bank Street College of Education. I don't have a front
porch. I live in an old schoolhouse, P.S. 8. The "reference book" the
kid's were enthralled with was the Guinness World Records. I always make
the most recent one reference. They were oohhing and aahhing about the
world's largest tumor.   Lisa
