[LM_NET] TAR: book ID

Dear wise ones,
  A fellow teacher asked if I knew the title of a book
that she had read in fourth grade, which involved a
cat that gets lost during winter.  She remembers the
book being white with the cat on the front.  I could
not recall this book, but thought it wouldn't hurt to
consult the vast knowledge of the collective brain
that is LM_Net.  Does anyone know this title?  Thanks
in advance.
