Kivalliq School Operations invites applications for
the following term position starting August 15, 2005
and ending June 8, 2006. 

Teacher-Librarian/School Media Specialist 
Rachel Arngnammaktiq Elementary School,Baker Lake 

• Rachel Arngnammaktiq Elementary School is a K-5
school with a student population of 261 and an
anticipated teaching staff of 19 
• The salary range for this position is $46,079 -
$86,756/annum depending upon qualifications and
experience and an additional Nunavut Northern
Allowance of $18,227/annum.

Required Qualifications: 
* Bachelor of Education or equivalent 
* Professional Teaching Certificate 
*Teacher Librarian or School Library Media Specialist
Certificate or 30 credit hours coursework toward that
end or a BLS or MLS degree, or coursework in progress
toward either of these qualifications 
*Minimum 5 years exemplary elementary level teaching
experience 
*School library media experience 
*Training/Experience in instructional technology and
curriculum developmnet 
*Ability to work well with students, teachers, parents
and administrators in planning and leading the library
media and information technology program 
* Eligible for Nunavut Certification 

Desired Qualifications: 
* A demonstrated willingness to pursue further
professional development in Library Science and
teachingand School Library Media Services in
particular 
* A demonstrated willingness to gain a thorough
knowledge of Nunavut's Department of Education
approved curricula and support documents 
* Successful northern teaching experience (Inuit or
First Nations)

academic excellence 
•Willing to participate in extra curricular activities
