Hi all - I am familiar w/the Heifer Project, I actually bought a flock of ducks as a gift this past Christmas but I was not aware of their kids website which is called Read to Feed at www.readtofeed.org . This has activities, information, and book recommendations for themes of poverty and hunger. (thanks to Margaret in Virginia for this) - these are the ones I found: http://www.nationalhomeless.org/fmn2001/Elementary.pdf http://www.nationalhomeless.org/fmn2001/elemresources.html http://www.nationalhomeless.org/fmn2001/kidscornerhome.html http://www.feedingminds.org/ http://www.peacecorps.gov/kids/ http://www.sadako.org/ http://www.understandingprejudice.org/teach/elemact.htm Bibliograpy for teachers: http://www.understandingprejudice.org/readroom/kidsbib.htm Judy Finucane Library Media Teacher Griswold Elementary School Griswold, CT 06351 jfinucan@griswold.k12.ct.us (860)376-7610 -------------------------------------------------------------------- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
