In our Middle & High School Library we've had great success in clearing up
overdues and fines when classes are doing research projects. The classroom
teacher simply adds a few points to the overall grade for having all
library materials returned and fines paid. So, at the end of the research
project, each student comes to get our initials on their research project
progress sheet. It's an easy 5 pt. for the student, and really helps
us. Since each English class in Gr. 6-9 does a research paper, this clears
a lot of overdues for us.
