[LM_NET] Target: fiction on personal choice and change for middle school ESL

Hello, all.

This is the first time I've posted to LM_NET, but I thought you wise folk would be 
my best resource.

I have an ESL teacher who is looking for fiction at a 4th grade reading level for 
her students.  She needs books with the themes of change and personal choice.  The 
curriculum recommends Julie of the Wolves by George and Taking Sides by Soto, but 
she wants something a little easier than these.

Any great ideas out there?  Please reply to me directly (use my work email below 
for best results); if there is interest, I'll post the results to the list.
