[LM_NET] Sec./science ref-magazines

Really could use some help with finding science articles. I am just now subscribing 
to Current Science(Science mag is too hard), but want to know if anyone has other 
titles that may cover this.  Ag students are looking for magazine articles on the 
following questions/ideas:

mold on bread (types, growth rate, whether faster on wheat or white and why)
grass-does it grow better in saltwater?
hummingbirds
green beans--what affects growth
apples/bananas:  mold rate?  spilage?  do they turn brown faster on the counter??
tap water or salt water--what is better for beans, etc. to grow in.
