Tomorrow students will take the AP U.S. History test, and my teacher wants to finish the year by having her students do a reading project. She'll either be pairing them off or putting them in lit. circle groups of 3-4, and she'd like to give them a list of options, both fiction and nonfiction, from which to work. We have a great start on the nonfiction but could use more help on the fiction list. She's after works that are not simply set in another American generation or era, but that truly recreate a strong feel of society and time. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
