The cake for me are the two books I purchased for the students to use
for their drug reports. We always have trouble finding enough
information on mushrooms. After reading all of the information I could,
I purchased three. One was great, the other two were very pro use of
the mushrooms, included information on the use and growing. ARRRGH.

Subject: GEN: Bad Purchases

Dear LM_NET:

As I am reading and facing the shelves I always come upon books that are
in
the wrong place, books which are too tall for the shelf(I hate those)
books
which need new labels, and books that need to be weeded.
As I go through the ones to weed it occurs to me that I have made some
bad
purchases in the past:
Books in a series such as Countdown because some of them always
disappear.
Hardback books that were a bargain at $4.60. Not.
Books that I purchased because the author was popular. Not all books by
that
author were good.
Classics Illustrated versions. The teachers won't let the kids read them
and
the kids get confused about which AR test to take.
Expensive binders of information that the teachers never used.

What boo-boos have you made?
