[LM_NET] OT: Slide scanning - summer project!

One of my summer projects is to start scanning all those treasured
slides into digital format. The slide scanners are so expensive and the
labor intensive that I am considering a scanning service. Has anyone
used one of these national services? If so, can you email me off list (I
don't want this to be a commercial) with your experience. There are so
many companies out there that I don't know where to start looking.
