Dear LM Netters,

I know I've seen this before but I can't seem to find the answer in print. Is it
legal for teachers or librarians to make their own recordings of books? I'm not
talking about doing this for special needs students, I'm talking in general. If a
book is not available in audio format can we read or have someone read and record
the book word for word. I've always said the answer was no, but with librians
doing pod casts of books and audio links on their websites I'm wondering if I have
missed a change in the rulles.

Thanks in advance,
