As promised, I compiled all of the responses I received to my original request for printed resources on fairy tales that high school students could use in completing a research project. As I thought, real hard copy resources are not in abundance, but thank to everyone who suggested alternative sources. If anyone else has suggestions, I'll be happy to hear them! I would like to TARGET-> Fairy Tale Resources. Our 10th grade English classes do a research project each year where they analyze a fairy tale and then turn the analysis paper into a research paper by adding biographical information on the author and literary criticisms on the tale. I'd like to find out what resources others on the LM_Net listserv suggest our Library Media Specialist order to allow students to best complete the project. If people will respond to me, I'll compile your responses and post A HIT-> on Fairy Tale Resource Books back to the entire LM_NET. Please send responses to karen.digiorgio@nn.k12.va.us. HIT: The best on line resourse I've found is http://www.surlalunefairytales.com/ good luck! ----- Micki Nevett Librarian Westmere Elementary School 6274 Johnston Rd. Albany, NY 12203 518-456-3771 As I librarian who absolutely loves books, I must say for this one I think I would rely upon the Internet. This area is an avocation area for me, and I've explored it extensively. I have found such wonderful, free resources online, and other than my personal books of Grimms, etc I would be able to follow this project start to finish using the Internet. Just do a search using an education-focused search engine such as www.vivisimo.com I'm trying my posting again.
