[LM_NET] Looking for low level Victorian England info

I have a 7th grade teacher who is beginning A Christmas Carol with her
students.  She has given them an article to read beforehand about ghosts
and the supernatural in Victorian England.  It is way too difficult for
the special ed students, and the teacher is looking for something
comparable written at a 1st to 4th grade reading level.  Any
suggestions?
