HI: One of my colleagues has this situation (below) developing. I wondered if your collective wisdom and experience could come up with some thoughts one way or the other. Have any of you kept your Media Centers open using Para's this way? Thanks in advance for any ideas! Here's his dilemma: "There is discussion taking place about keeping the IMC open until 4 each day. Having a parent or para running it for that hour. I think this is ludicrous and sets precedence towards thinning out media specialists. If a para or parent can run the center then they don't need us? Don't we have public libraries anymore? Mine is a mile from school." "If Librarians ruled the world, Reading would be a Varsity sport." Reggie Buresh, Librarian Mahtomedi High School 8000 75th St. N.
