Do you all think that these methods would work for removing the odor of cat urine?
We have a child whose belongings reek of it and, if her library books stay home for
more than an overnight, they also reek.
If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate them.

My original post was asking for advice on removing cigarette odor from books
donated for hurricane relief.
I want to thank everyone who gave me tips and tricks for removing odors from
books.
The most recommended procedures were:
let them air out in the sun
stand the book on end with the pages fanned out and place a fan on it
put them in a plastic bag with baking soda, charcoal, kitty litter, or
fabric softener sheets, remove and replace every couple of days or use
Fabreze
Most of these procedures would probably be good if I only had a few books to
handle. Since there is a box full, I've decided to discard the books.
