Bias is in the eye of the beholder. I am a liberal-- and willing to admit it in public. Neither Newsweek or Time is left-leaning from where I stand. If you want to represent the liberal/progressive point of view in your periodical collection then you need something like Utne Reader, Mother Jones, The Atlantic, or The Nation. I find it interesting that those "liberal bias" magazines, particularly The Nation, often include articles by right-wing authors to balance some of their coverage. The National Review, The Weekly Standard, The Limbaugh Letter, and other right-wing periodicals don't offer space to liberal writers. For a very good look at media bias read What Liberal Media? by Eric Alterman. It is very well researched and well written. ---- Tony Doyle, Librarian Livingston High School, Livingston, CA tdoyle@muhsd.k12.ca.us <Http://www.lhs.muhsd.k12.ca.us/library/index.htm> "You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture.
