What media training?? When I had media training in my BS (long ago)and MLS
days (not so long ago) were trained in how to use a 8mm film projector, tape
recorders, etc. There was essentially no computer use except a short intro
to APPLE IIEs. Every single thing I learned about the current media was
self taught by reading the owner's manual! I have taken a few courses in
computer since then as I need credits for renewing licensure.
The reason we do help as that we, more than classroom teachers have time
without a bunch of kids in front of us to go to their aid. I myself know
that dreaded lesson when nothing goes right and the students are getting
restless and then the overhead bulb blows, the internet goes down, the tape
breaks........I also have an aide in each of my 3 bldgs. who can either fix
the problem or free me from the library to deal with it.
