All of this discussion about the teachers in your schools who will or won't
collaborate with you (and the levels of collaboration that you are in at the
moment), reminds me of Toni Buzzeo's presentation (recently) to our librarians. We
had a great time (and felt such relief) with the impressions that Toni gave us
about how we get our teachers to collaborate and just where WE were in all of this.
She offered some great ideas and ways to get your teachers involved with you AND
reminded us that IT TAKES TIME....sometimes things happen slowly and sometimes they
won't happen at all (unless there is a change somewhere in the "machine" that has
often kept the wheels from turning.)
If you get a chance to work with Toni Buzzeo---or want to schedule her for your
librarians' workshop---let me assure you that you will leave knowing where you are
and how to get to where you need to be. If you can't attend the workshops, then
her books are the next best thing! (Of course, she's on the list--so it's like
having a "virtual mini-workshop" when she comments about things...but it's SO much
better when it's LIVE!!)
