Here are the recommendations I received for Arthurian legend books for high
school level. I want to thank everyone again for helping out.

Original request:
One of our high school English classes does a project on Arthurian Legends
every year. I've found some good Internet sources, but have been having
problems locating good print sources at a high school level. Most of the books
I've found are either rather juvenile, or too scholarly. Can anyone recommend
any print sources that would be appropriate for high school research? I've
checked the archives, but the only recommendations I found were for websites.
I'll post a hit. Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

Is Steinbeck's book still in print? It's very good.

It turns out that many Arthurian Legends - including those about the King
himself - are interspersed with "facts." This story about King Arthur links to
all kinds of primary sources, timelines, pictures of the legendary places
and books which are suitable for high schoolers.

subscription-based but
is free to all educators, schools and libraries. Simply request an academic
membership at the site's main URL. _http://www.awesomestories.com/_

Have you seen the series of books by Gerald Morris? The first one is
The Squire's Tale (link below). They'd be a good middle school read --
I'm not sure how scholarly they are but they sure are fun!
