Dear LM_Net,

I was recently asked by a teacher to conduct digital camera training for
her 7th grade team. I have never done this before and was wondering what this type
of session would look like. I already asked what her team knew about digital
cameras, and she said she didn't know!

Should I just instruct them on how to use it and then provide them with some ideas
for classroom uses? I already found some websites on using cameras in the
classrooms.

Can you please e-mail me privately with any technical ideas, logistical
recommendations for showing a group how to use it, handouts, or PowerPoints you may
have used?

Just as background- We just started out housing & signing out digital
cameras/camcorders in the media center last year, but the issue of training is
starting to come up. Our technology staff (one teacher, one tech coordinator)
doesn't want to assume responsibility for training teachers on this technology.

Is this my responsibility since the technology is now housed in the library? I am
uncertain whether I should be taking this on- not sure it is my "area of
expertise." Should I continue to offer this type of training, and do you think it
will it be a good use of my time for the library program?

Thank you,
