[LM_NET] HUMOR (?)-Dick and Jane

A few years ago, a parent approached the reference desk and asked if I could
   
  direct her to the "Dick and Jane" books because she wanted to help her daughter
   
  learn how to read.  I told her that we didn't have any, (we now have the reissued
   
  _Fun With Dick and Jane_) but offered information about used book sites, Ebay,
   
  etc.  Not receptive to this, she indignantly muttered "Well, they were good enough
   
  for ME to learn with, I just don't understandy why you wouldn't have them."
