I have a question regarding the use of music. Our school wants to create a DVD video and sell it to the students. Each class would have 45 seconds to display as many pictures as they want in that time frame with music playing in the background. I told them they had 30 seconds as per fair use guidelines but I am really unsure altogether since they plan to sell these DVDs to the students. What is the general rule here? Your expertise would greatly be appreciated. I dont want our school breaking any laws.
